If a caller claims to be with a government agency or a company you do business with, ask for their name, organization/company, phone number, and extension, and tell them you will call them back. Then find the company's official number from the phone book, account statement, or other authentic source, and return the call. If they pressure you, tell them that you will not give that information out for security reasons and hang up. |

Invest in caller ID so you know where incoming calls are really coming from.
